Election July 30, 2019 Noon to 7:00 p.m. at the Town Office

There will be an election on July 30, 2019 at the Town Office from Noon to 7:00 p.m.

This election is being held to approve the RSU56 retooled budget and to reconsider the 8 Articles on the Town of Peru Referendum Ballot that were not passed June 11, 2019.  The following Articles were defeated: Town Officers and Appointed Officials; Town Office Operation; General Expenses; Used 10-Wheeler; Garage Facility Maintenance & Operations; New backhoe; Preservation of Town Record Books and Tax levy limitation.

*There will be an Informational Meeting at Dirigo Elementary School starting 6:00 p.m on Tuesday, July 16th, 2019 to discuss the proposed town of Peru Ballot articles.*

*There will be School Budget Meeting on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at Dirigo High School.*

FOLLOWING ROADS CLOSED TO COMMERCIAL TRUCKS

Brad Hutchings has closed the following dirt roads due to their soft and seriously bad conditions to commercial trucks (i.e. logging).
Mineral Springs from Gammon Rd up the hill; High Street; Lacroix Road; Bird Farm Road; and Hutchinson road.
Brad has asked Kathy Hussey to place the closings on the electric bulletin board.
For clarification:  Essential service vehicles such as school buses, oil trucks, CMP, fire trucks and ambulances are allowed as are residents’ cars and non commercial trucks.
